I hate it when I go to an affiliate program directory, find an affiliate program I would like to sign up for, just to find out that it is a Commission Junction affiliate program. I'm already signed up for Commission Junction! What did I need that affiliate directory for? I can just log into Commission Junction and do a search there!
Anyway, here at AffiliatesByDesign we won't include any affiliate programs that are from affiliate networks such as Commission Junction.
We do include some great affiliate programs that are independent from any affiliate network.
Why not just promote affiliate programs from Commission Junction or Clickbank? Who cares about the little guys, right?
WRONG!!
Some of the best affiliate programs are independent. Look at all of the Joomla affiliate programs for instance. Joomla is CMS who's popularity is quickly growing. There is a lot of support for it. This very website is running with Joomla as the CMS.

When you enter your EIN (Employer Identification Number) or SSN (Social Security Number) at websites that are not secured by 128bit SSL (Secure Socket Layer), you are exposing your information to the world in clear text.
When you type in information into a form on a website, and you click submit, the data has to travel from your computer to the server where the affiliate program webpage is hosted. If the affiliate program webpage is secured with SSL, your information is encrypted before it is sent so that your data is secure along the way.
Once it reaches the server, it is up to the owners of the website to make sure your information stays secure within their databases.

Affiliate Programs 101 – What you “need to know…”
If you're reading this there's a good chance you've heard the buzz surrounding affiliate programs these days. I'm here to give you a basic rundown on the "need to know" info on this topic.
